Campers and Counselors

I don’t know about you guys, but Ships and Sailors is a huge hit at our camp. For some weird reason, I woke up the other day thinking “but why don’t we have a more campy version?” So I put my mind to it and came up with one! I’m making big posters of the rules so people can have those at first, but I’m hoping it’ll catch on just like Ships and Sailors.

Here’s what we’ve got so far:

  • Boys Side – run to the left
  • Girls Side – run to the right
  • Counselor’s Coming – put your hands under your chin, smile, and bat your eyes
  • Cabin Clean Up – act like you’re cleaning
  • Campfire – get in a group of three and act like you’re roasting marshmallows
  • Lights Out – get down and go to sleep **FOR THIS ONE YOU CANNOT MOVE UNTIL AFTER THE CALLER SAYS MORNING BELL – so if I say “lights out” then “campfire” without saying “morning bell” in between, anyone who moves is out**
  • Alive, Awake, Alert – sing Alive, Awake, Alert, Enthusiastic
  • Two Making Bracelets – find a friend and pretend to make friendship bracelets
  • Three in a Canoe – get in a group of three and act like you’re rowing a canoe
  • Two to a Hammock – pair up, hold hands, and swing your arms back and forth
  • Buddy Check – pair up
  • Form the Corn – sing and dance to Form the Corn
  • Frisbee! – get down on the ground to avoid the frisbee
  • BEST PERIOD! – yell rest period and pretend to sleep
  • Koolaid College – pretend to make koolaid
  • Big Chief’s Coming! – get down on the ground like a mermaid, wave, and yell “Hey, Big Chief!”
  • Cabin Time – get together with everyone from your cabin who is still in the game

If you have any ideas to add, leave them in the comments!
